Letter from Congress to Federal Highway Administration

co-signed by Congressmen Moran & Connolly to the Federal Highway
Administration requesting that they minimize the impact of the Highway
Expansion on Inlet Cove and consider alternatives (i.e. making the
expansion on the Ft Belvoir side). This letter was writen in response
to the registered letter we had sent to each of them along with
District Supervisor Hyland.

Dear (Individually Addressed to Congressman Connolly & Moran and District Supervisor Hyland);
Members of the Inlet Cove Homeowners Association were recently briefed by representatives of the Federal Highway Administration, Ft. Belvoir, and Fairfax County regarding the plans to expand Route 1 in the vicinity of Ft. Belvoir (Section 106). Although we, as a community impacted by the increased traffic on this roadway, support the need to improve the transportation situation, we are concerned that the preferred option for resolving this problem has overlooked some critical considerations. ... <download file to read in entirety>
